I started Davis Dollars because I believe that as strong a community as Davis already is, it can be much stronger. I hope to see a Davis where people know their neighbors, work together to solve local problems, share meals, and know they can rely on strangers to help them fix a bike flat or find a lost cat. I would love to see more groups like the Bike Collective, to help people learn skills that will benefit them, but which will also encourage them to share those skills with others. Davis Dollars can help create that sort of community by bringing people together, and I’ll work hard to make sure that vision becomes a reality.
